A good middle school student, I think, should be diligent in his studies. The more he studies, the more he will increase his knowledge. Without enough energy, we cannot make great contributions to the modernization of our country.

一名优秀的中学生应该勤奋学习。学得越多，知识就越丰富。没有足够的知识，就无法对我国的现代化建设做出巨大贡献。

We long for peace and we also need to learn something from war.

今天，我们渴望和平，同时我们也应该反思战争。

Now, we have already in the embrace of the new century, we should be confident that we can make the world full of love. With wisdom and love, the human race as a whole will detest war and embrace peace.

现在，我们已经进入新世纪的怀抱。我们有信心建设一个充满爱的世界。我们有信心用智慧与爱来反对战争，拥抱和平。

In a nutshell, well begun is half done. We need to make the most of this golden period in our lives, enrich our mind, sound our minds, try to become a qualified high school student and then be fully prepared for tomorrow’s challenge.

简而言之，好的开始就是成功的一半。我们要充分利用好人生这段“黄金时期”，充实头脑，健全心灵，努力成为一名合格的高中生，做好充分的准备迎接明天的挑战！

Peace is the cornerstone of the  development and progress of human civilization.
